The Maltraversi Winery

The Maltraversi Counts, an ancient lineage of Venetian nobles, gave inspiration to the founders of the homonymous winery. They wanted to dedicate their name and symbolism to these characters from a local and ancient past. Between sites of archaeological relevance and lands brought back to cultivation, the company was founded in 2008 by four friends: Luigino, Almerino, Luciano and Marco. Enhancing the valley in which they live, the Alta Valdalpone, and restoring lost crops was the main reason that led them to this wine initiative.

We want to talk about the history, the territory and the grape variety through the wine that best represents us, the Durello“, enthuses Luciano. “Strengthened by the passion for the cultivation of vines and lovers of the history of our territory, we wanted to send a signal that is: everything is possible, just design it“.

This is the spirit with which the Maltraversi organic winery in San Giovanni Ilarione was born, in the east of Verona, whose vineyards are located at an altitude between 350 and 600 meters. It is a medium-loose soil of basaltic origin, characterized by an air and soil temperature that undergo a significant temperature range both in summer and in winter and with abundant rainfall. All characteristics in favor of the quality of the grape and its sparkling vocation.

For the December box we have chosen two bubbles that struck us immediately and we decided to propose for your Christmas toasts. Both a Martinotti method that winks at the French, in fact, arises from the assembly of fermented and selected wines, and then proceeds with the refermentation. Ideal choice for a sophisticated aperitif or to accompany a lunch and dinner in all its courses.
